  Today we hosted my daughter's 8th birthday along with 18 friends and all had a great time, thoroughly enjoyable. The staff were friendly and helpful, couldn't have asked for anything more. Don't hesitate hosting a party there.

  I took my kids there last night for a social outing. As this was the first time we had attended this skating rink, I didn't know that the policy was no skates on prior to entry and unfortunately my kids already had their skates on when we arrived. The man at the counter rather rudely and abruptly pointed this out to us and said that they had to leave the establishment without their skates on when they finished skating. I pointed out that they had no shoes with them and the concrete was wet outside, as it had been raining. He said "too bad" and that due to safety reasons they couldn't leave with their skates on. I understand the need for this rule, and completely respect it and therefore complied. I do, however, feel that he could have been more diplomatic and personable in the way that he dealt with us, as we simply didn't realise this was a rule at this establishment. We regularly frequent sk8house in Carrum Downs and the kids always come and go with their skates on and without a hassle. As a result of this man's conduct, I felt uneasy being there and just wanted to go home and didn't want to buy drinks, etc for my kids because I didn't want to put money in his pocket. I will never go back there again. Added to this, we are coming to terms with the fact that my partner and father of our kids has just been diagnosed with cancer and has months to live. I didn't need to deal with this man's rudeness and attitude last night. Maybe he needs to be mindful of the fact that people should all be treated with respect and common courtesy if he is to work with the public. The kids had a good skate but overall, a negative experience for us.
